The stained glass windows in the church building at St. George's are a recent enhancement to the church property and represent a three-year labor of love by a dedicated team of parishioners. Initiated to replace windows broken by vandals and deteriorating metal channels in the original windows, the project culminated with a blessing of the windows on Sunday, September 7, 2008.
The six-member team -- all novices when it came to working with glass -- learned on the job to cut and assemble the glass and to solder the outer supporting pieces. Team members carried the project from start to finish, including installation, providing the congregation with new light and color in its worship space.
