Pauli Murray Gala

  • DoubleTree Hotel 6505 North Interstate Highway 35 Austin, TX, 78752 (map)

At Diocesan Council 2018, Bishop Doyle spoke of the need to have more Episcopal clergy of color. In response, St. James Episcopal Church, Austin, in cooperation with Seminary of the Southwest, started a scholarship fund for students of color attending seminary. This scholarship fund has been named for Pauli Murray, a Civil Rights activist and the first African American woman ordained an Episcopal priest.

You are invited to help kick off and support this important scholarship fund on Saturday, September 28, at 6:30 pm, at the Double Tree Hotel (at I-35 & 290). Individual tickets ($100.00) and table sponsorships can be purchased at www.welcometableaustin.org/pauli-murray-scholarship. Feel free to spread the word to your friends and make this a great event! If you are unable to attend the Gala, you are invited to donate money to support the scholarship at the previously mentioned website.
