Episcopal Visitation of Bishop Kathryn “Kai” Ryan

Sunday, February 8 | St. George’s Episcopal Church – Austin, Texas

St. George’s Episcopal Church joyfully welcomes The Rt. Rev. Kathryn “Kai” McCrossen Ryan, Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of Texas, for her official episcopal visitation on Sunday, February 8.

This special Sunday will include the celebration of Holy Baptism and Confirmation, as Bishop Ryan presides and preaches at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. It is a meaningful moment in the life of our parish, as we welcome new members into the Church and affirm faith through confirmation.

Following worship, Bishop Ryan will continue her visitation with parish leadership and members of the congregation.

Worship Schedule

  • 10:30 a.m. – Holy Eucharist with Baptism and Confirmation

All parishioners, families, and visitors are warmly invited to attend.

About Bishop Kathryn “Kai” Ryan

Kathryn “Kai” McCrossen Ryan was born in Raton, New Mexico, and baptized at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Her faith and leadership were formed in the Diocese of the Rio Grande through parish life, youth ministry, and service. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of the South (Sewanee) and a Master of Divinity from Seminary of the Southwest.

Bishop Ryan served 20 years in parish ministry, including 14 years as Rector of Ascension, Dallas, and later as Canon to the Ordinary of the Diocese of Texas, where she led diocesan staff in implementing the diocesan vision. She was elected Bishop Suffragan in 2019 and consecrated in Austin by Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry.
