THE Friends of the Dragon

The Friends of the Dragon exists to create a welcoming, affirming, and supportive community for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families. Grounded in our commitment to love and dignity, the ministry provides opportunities for fellowship, spiritual growth, service, and meaningful connection. We seek to ensure that all people can experience the fullness of God's love and participate fully in the life of the church.

Leading this ministry is Frank Dobson, our Friends of the Dragon Ministry Coordinator. Frank brings a deep passion for inclusive ministry and community building, along with years of experience in the local LGBTQ+ community. With warmth and a commitment to listening, Frank works alongside church members and community partners to cultivate spaces where people can share their stories and explore their faith in community.

Throughout the year, the Friends of the Dragon hosts social events, discussion groups, service projects, and special worship opportunities that celebrate the diversity of God's creation. Whether someone is looking to connect with others in a spiritual home or hoping to learn more about LGBTQ+ inclusion, the ministry offers a place of welcome and encouragement.

FIRST PRIDE POTLUCK

Join us on Thursday, August 21, at 6:30 p.m. in Kleberg Hall for our first Pride Potluck!

Bring a favorite dish to share (if you're able) and enjoy an evening of food and fellowship. Everyone is welcome as we gather to build community, celebrate diversity, and affirm God's love for all.
