Community Food Drive: Supporting Austin Families
St. George’s is partnering with the Austin Monarch Collective and Austin Sanctuary Network to provide essential nutrition to over 33 local families. While we regularly provide non-perishables, we are calling on our parish to help fill the gap with fresh, perishable foods.
📅 Event Details
Date: Sunday, May 17th
Time: During Morning Services
Location: Drop-off boxes located in the North and South Narthexes
🍎 What We Need
To facilitate easy distribution, we suggest donations in 2–3 lb bags of the following:
Vegetables: Potatoes, carrots, onions, beets, cucumbers, firm avocados/tomatoes, squash (chayote, calabazas), jalapenos, limes, cilantro, cabbage, and lettuce.
Fruits: Apples, oranges, pears, melons, pineapples, firm mangoes, and berries (in firm plastic containers).
Why it matters: Your donations will be delivered this coming Monday directly to families in need. A small gesture with a big impact—take a look at this thank-you note from one of the children we support.
